Hold the input to lower the hook
If a click only jerks the rod, hold the primary fishing input so the hook moves through the water. Then test one known lure and location before treating it as a broken session.

Follow the recovery routePut a Drip creature into the Reel of Fortune, read the reward, then use the appearance controls to cycle the weapon skin. A blank-looking 4K spin needs a separate display check.

Check the save and backup orderHow the game works
How to Fish is an action game built around a catch–fight–sell loop. Money removes the next bottleneck, while quests and distinctive boss items move progression forward. If an item looks like a trophy, head, fin or other unusual result, test the quest hand-in before treating it like ordinary meat.
Open the official Steam pageHook a creature with the rod and lure available on your current island.
Control the physics, make space and finish the creature with your current weapon.
Sell ordinary catches for upgrades, but preserve unusual boss or quest items until the hand-in is clear.
Use quest rewards, navigation gear and boss results to open the next route.

Patch 1.0.9 essentials
Easy gives every creature 25% less health and 50% less damage. Hard gives every creature 25% more health and 25% more damage. Normal keeps the original balance. The official announcement says you can change the setting from the main menu or in-game.

The official trailer shows the fishing, combat and co-op loop. The community beginner video is useful for seeing controls and early systems, but changing mechanics are checked against the current patch before they become written guidance.
