Island 4 boss route

How to Beat the Terrorizing Bird (Albatross)

On Island 4, buy the Professional Boss Lure, defeat the Tuna it summons and place the Tuna on the ground to call the Terrorizing Bird. Fight from the casino doorway: use the building during the dive or ranged attack, then step out for controlled shots.

The short answer

  • Reach Island 4 and buy the Professional Boss Lure for the current reported price of $1,200.
  • Use it to catch and defeat the Tuna mini-boss, then place the Tuna on the ground as bait for the Terrorizing Bird, also called the Albatross.
  • Stage healing food inside the casino and use an upgraded Uzi/SMG or sniper that you can control at range.
  • Move under cover for the dive or ranged windup, track the red enemy marker, then peek out for short damage windows.

Get the Tuna that summons the Albatross

The encounter starts with a purchased mini-boss lure, not a story bait handed directly to you. Current Steam routes list the Professional Boss Lure on Island 4 at $1,200. Use it to fish up the Tuna, defeat that mini-boss and keep the whole Tuna instead of treating it as ordinary sale loot.

Place the Tuna on open ground only after the fight area is ready. The Tuna is consumed when the bird arrives, so a failed setup means buying and completing the Tuna encounter again. A surviving lure does not make the Tuna reusable.

  1. 1

Save, restore health and buy ammunition before using the Professional Boss Lure.

  2. 2

Catch the Tuna mini-boss and finish it without selling, cooking or abandoning the body.

  3. 3

Carry the Tuna to the casino area and stage healing food inside the building.

  4. 4

Place the Tuna on the ground only when every co-op player is ready.

Use the casino as a repeatable cover loop

Current player routes describe two main threats: a direct dive and a ranged attack with an audible windup. The casino gives you a roof and a clear doorway, so both attacks can be answered with the same loop—move fully inside, track the red enemy marker through cover, then step out only after the attack passes.

Do not chase the boss across the island. A maxed Uzi/SMG is reported to work, while a sniper gives cleaner controlled shots if recoil makes the bird hard to track. Pick one weapon you can keep on target and spend the rest of the budget on ammunition and food.

  1. 1

Start from the casino doorway with food already inside, not scattered across open ground.

  2. 2

When the bird dives or the ranged windup begins, move fully under the roof.

  3. 3

Watch the red marker and wait for the attack to finish before exposing yourself.

  4. 4

Step out, fire a short controlled burst or one/two sniper shots, then return to cover.

  5. 5

Heal inside and repeat; do not trade damage in the open just because the timer is visible.

Solo and co-op preparation

Solo players can keep the boss predictable by using one doorway and the same peek timing. A current Steam report describes completing the fight this way with a sniper. In co-op, put food in the same building and keep at least one player able to revive from cover rather than giving every player a separate exposed firing position.

Some players report that a larger lobby struggled to beat the timer even with upgraded weapons, while solo or duo attempts succeeded. That is not enough evidence to claim a confirmed scaling bug. If a prepared group still cannot make progress, retry once with fewer players before rebuilding every weapon.

Why the achievement did not unlock

The achievement objective and the boss route are the same player task, so this page keeps them together. A separate one-paragraph achievement page would repeat the Tuna trigger without giving the player a better fight plan.

  1. 1

Confirm the encounter was the Island 4 Albatross summoned by placing the defeated Tuna, not an ordinary seagull.

  2. 2

Finish the boss completely and wait for the encounter state to clear before leaving the island.

  3. 3

Check the achievement list after the fight rather than assuming the on-screen notification must appear immediately.

  4. 4

If it remains locked, preserve the patch number, lobby size and a screenshot of the completed fight before repeating the $1,200 setup.

Failed-attempt checklist

  1. 1

If the bird never arrives, verify that the Tuna body is on the ground rather than still held or stored.

  2. 2

If you die during the opening, move the Tuna drop closer to the casino and pre-stage food before the next summon.

  3. 3

If shots miss, switch from continuous spray to short bursts or a sniper; do not buy several new weapons at once.

  4. 4

If a co-op timer feels impossible, retry with fewer players and record the difference instead of treating lobby scaling as confirmed.

  5. 5

If the route changes after a patch, keep the old observation separate and recheck the lure name, price and summon trigger.
